" The world we live in is guided by the sustenance of light, yet it can be cold and void when the shadow of pain and anguish flood the mind. Meet Kiki, no ordinary young teen girl. Sure, when she was younger, her life was filled with friends, family, a wild imagination and she loved her dolls, but now that she is in her teens she hasn't let go of Gabe. Who is Gabe? Kiki developed a bond with her so-called imaginary friend; a confidant she believes is real. Her family believes she will outgrow this bond and even her sister, Tracy doesn't believe Kiki's telling the truth.
Good versus Evil is a concept trapped by the event horizon where light sinks into a black hole, and we find Kiki beginning her journey into the abyss. Unfortunately, Kiki develops odd behavior. She becomes withdrawn, lifeless, has night terrors, talking to the corners of the wall (which was not Gabe) and had a tendency of self-harm. Kiki's mother and sister become distraught over her behavior and change in her personality. They seek guidance and medical treatment, but nothing seems to help. Sadly, Kiki is sent to a mental hospital where she stays in solitary confinement after her behavior turns violent to the hospital staff. Ten years passed, and the plight of poor Kiki stays the course. Is she in need of mental health treatment or are invisible forces dictating her every move plaguing her soul and mind?
Sharon McDonnell weaves of a tale of reality mixed with an otherworldly flair. He characters shine through like gold to King Midas bringing forth a plethora of emotions that sways your mind to believe in miracles, heaven versus hell, and things that go bump in the night."
